This document defines the guidelines of the Apache UIMA Project. It includes definitions of the various categories of membership, who is able to vote, how conflicts are resolved by voting, and the procedures to follow for proposing and making changes to the codebase of the Project.

This project's purpose is to develop Apache-licensed implementations of the UIMA standard being developed by the UIMA Technical Committee at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=uima . As such, we will not incorporate changes into the project which are not compliant with the standard, and will evolve implementations here to be compliant with the evolving changes in the standard.

  Defines how users and developers communicate.
• Decision Making
  Defines how action items are proposed and voted on.
• Source Repositories
  Defines how the Project's source code is organized and developed.

This is a living document. Changes can be made by the Podling Project Management Committee. Suggestions for changes should be discussed on the uima-dev@incubator.apache.org mailing list
