Apache Lucy™ is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software
Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache
Incubator. Incubation is
required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that
the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have
stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While
incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or
stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully
endorsed by the ASF.
Apache Lucy is full-text search engine library written in C and targeted at dynamic languages. It is a "loose C" port of Apache Lucene™, a search engine library for Java.
In July 2010, Lucy was proposed as a candidate for entry into the Apache Incubator with the purpose of assimilating the KinoSearch code base and community and was accepted. Prior to that, Lucy had been developed as a subproject of Lucene.
Lucy's incubation status is tracked at http://incubator.apache.org/projects/lucy.html.
